There’s just a single Premier League fixture taking place on Sunday afternoon with Chelsea making the short trip to North London to face Spurs for a 1:30pm kick-off.
Spurs
Despite their frustrating inconsistencies this season, Spurs remain in contention for a European spot. The Lilywhites moved up to fourth following last weekend’s comfortable victory over West Ham.
Match has ended
Antonio Conte was unable to be present in North London seven days ago, with the club’s head coach having undergone surgery back in his native Italy. Nevertheless, his side have been in decent form, winning three of their last four matches and keeping clean sheets in each of those encounters.
Spurs are still yet to draw at this venue, although having lost four of their last seven home matches, this hasn’t exactly been a fortress for the hosts this season.
Conte’s side will be pleased to have a few days off after this game with the club not back in European action until March 8th.
Chelsea
Despite the increasing pressure from both fans and the media, Graham Potter remains in charge of Chelsea.
It’s been an exceptionally poor 2023 for the Blues and they have drifted anonymously into mid-table. With a goal difference of 0 and just one win in their last eight, this season has become a bit of a write-off for the West Londoners.
Potter has been slowly introducing his January signings into the XI, however, Joao Felix had a poor game against Southampton. Although the general consensus appears to be that Chelsea will improve over the next few months, Potter may not be around long enough to witness the turnaround.
The visitors have issues in the final third and having failed to score in three of their last four outings, they will be desperate to give the travelling supporters something to cheer.

Chelsea have tended to dominate this fixture in recent seasons and they have a significantly better record overall. Across the last 39 meetings between these sides, the Blues have been victorious in 20 of those clashes. They have also been victorious in nine of the last 12 meetings, although, on current form, you’d find that fairly hard to believe!
These two sides were involved in a topsy-turvy 2-2 draw back in mid-August with Harry Kane netting a controversial injury-time equaliser in West London.
